Tobias Myers (4-2) earned the win for Biloxi after allowing two earned runs with six strikeouts over six innings. He induced a fielder’s choice that nabbed a runner at the plate and then struck out Hurtubise to end the game, earning his third save of the year. Shuckers’ reliever Zach Vennaro then entered with the bases loaded and one out. In the ninth, Chattanooga shrunk the lead further with a bases-loaded walk drawn by Vellojin, making it 11-8. Jacob Hurtubise then drive in Daniel Vellojin with a fidler’s choice to cut the Shuckers’ lead to four. In the eighth, the Lookouts responded with a two-RBI single from Quincy McAfee, making it 11-6. Two batters later, Tyler Black then extended the lead to 11-4 with his 10 th home run of the year. They then extended the lead to 9-4 with a two-RBI double from Murray in the seventh. One batter later, Jeferson Quero brought in Chourio with a line-drive single to left. Then, Biloxi’s offense exploded with a two-RBI double from Jackson Chourio that one-hopped the wall in left-center, giving Biloxi a 6-4 lead. The Lookouts tied the game at four in the sixth with another solo blast from Johnson. An inning later, the Shuckers took their first lead of the night with back-to-back RBI base hits from es Clarke and Zamora. Biloxi then answered in the bottom of the inning with Ethan Murray’s infield single that advanced Freddy Zamora home on a throwing error. Wes Clarke drew a bases walk against him to cut the deficit to 2-1 and knock him out of the game.īoth teams went scoreless until the fourth when Ivan Johnson tallied a solo home run to lead off the inning. The Shuckers then clawed back in the bottom of the first thanks to three walks and a single against Minor League Baseball strikeout leader Connor Phillips. Francisco Urbaez gave the Lookouts an early 2-0 lead with a double to the gap in left-center. The Lookouts utilized two Shuckers’ errors to score in the first. The win clinched at least a series split for Biloxi heading into the final day of the first half.
